About

Mastery Aquaria is a small studio run by aquarists, for aquarists. We started with a simple frustration: good information in this hobby is scattered, contradictory, and hard to trust. So we built the Aquaridex. An open species reference anyone can consult for free.

The botanicals came after. We couldn't find the catappa, alder, and seasonal leaf litter we trusted, so we began sourcing our own. Drying it slowly, testing it in our own tanks, and packing each order by hand.

How we work

Everything we sell is hand-foraged or single-sourced, shrimp-safe, and free of pesticides. We quarantine and inspect every batch before it ships. If something isn't good enough for our own shrimp, it doesn't go in the box.

Where we're going

We're slowly expanding the catalog and deepening the Aquaridex. Our aim is the same as the day we started: make it easier to keep healthy water, beautiful tanks, and thriving animals, and to share what we learn along the way.
